You Will Not Be a Cool ParentAnd that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you. You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them. Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion. Kind of funny though...all the neighbor kids think I am the coolest mom and my kids do too....you CAN have a structured environment and still be "cool" If you think that you will party hard and be respected then you are kidding yourself, your kids will not only NOT think you are cool and likely be embarrased by you but will actually find that they will misbehave and have a hard time becoming a respected member of society.
