Games Frenzy at ForumsNet has died, but with the permission of MK (the creator of Games Frenzy), GF is now at RGO.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Games Frenzy, every round I will post a game for all of you to play and then you send in a screenshot of your best score. You then earn points based off of how you placed in the game in comparison to the other players (like the top scoring player may earn 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, and so on). At the end of most rounds, the player with the least cumulative points will be eliminated from Games Frenzy. There will be some non-elimination rounds, but they will be few and far in-between.
There are also bonuses to be had during the course of the game.
Early Bird Bonus
The Early Bird Bonus is a bonus given to the player that sends in his/her score first. It will always be worth the lowest point total allocated that round. For instance, if last place gets 3 points that round, the Early Bird Bonus will be worth 3 points.
Detention
The Detention may only be used once (per player). The Detention allows a player to detain another player. What this means is that the player that is detained is not eligible to receive the Early Bird Bonus for that round. Also, the detained player will lose points from their overall total. The number of points lost is equal to the number of points that last place can earn for that round.
Trivial Pursuit
Each player may only use the Trivial Pursuit once and the first player to complete it that round will be the only one to get the points from it. Trivial Pursuit will be a set of questions that the player must answer in order to obtain bonus points for that round. The number of points obtained will be equal to twice what the last place player in that round can earn. For example: if last place earns 4 points that round, then the winner of the Trivial Pursuit will obtain 8 bonus points.
Miscellaneous
- The Detention and the Trivial Pursuit must be sent in before you send in your score or you will be denied.
- There will be eliminated and non-elimination rounds. So if your deficit looks too great to make up in one round, never give up.
- At the Final Four, all scores accumulated will be cut in half. This is so that the person going into the F4 with the lead, still has the lead, but even the player in fourth place still has a shot at winning.
- The Detention and the Early Bird Bonus will not be available come the Final 4.
I will be accepting any number of players and I will announce the start of the first round when we have at least 16 players. This will be considered a full-length game and that means there are two Hall of Fame spots up for grabs. If it looks like we won't get 16 players, then I will reduce the number of players needed to start, but then this will become a mini-game with one Hall of Fame spot up for grabs.
