NICK: This is not your normal desert isle. This is Ashna Island, an island renowned both for its picturesque landscape and the speed with which Mother Nature can suddenly unleash her fury. On this island, 18 people will begin their quest to be the last one standing and win $1,000,000 for their efforts. Every round, three people will win the right to form a Council, while everyone else will be forced to Labor in order to help the group survive. Each Council member will nominate a Laborer and the Laborers who were not nominated will then vote to send one of their fellow castaways home. The process continues until three remain. At this point all the castaways who had been voted out will return to cast a vote for who deserves to win the whole game. So without any further hesitation, let's meet our 18 castaways and begin the adventure... of Ashna Island.
ACE, 20, college student Ace: I want to win, because I need the money. But I also want the adventure. I'm here for a lot of reasons and I have no doubt that I have what it takes to go far.
ALEXA, 23, fashion model Alexa: I know most people will, like... label me right away. But they're totally wrong. I'm way smart. Seriously.
ASHER, 24, writer Asher: Okay, so I basically hate stupid people. And if I see stupid people out here... well, let's just hope I don't have to put up with any stupid people.
BROCK, 44, PE teacher Brock: My main goal here is to win. Not to go far, but to win. If I have to push people around to win, I'll do it.
CHARLOTTE, 56, nurse Charlotte: I'm probably not as strong, or as smart, or as sociable as the others out here... but I'm sure I'm going to bring the most heart, so I'm really looking forward to this experience. Can't wait, it'll be a fun game to be sure!
CHIP, 27, bartender Chip: My strategy is going to be to pull the strings behind the scenes. I don't want to be too out there, because then people will target me really fast. No, by the time people realize what I've done, it'll be too late, and I'll already be on the fast track to the million!
FRANK, 68, golf course owner Frank: I may be old, but my mind is still sharp! And I see no reason why I can't compete with the rest of them. Let's go!
GINNY, 19, artist Ginny: I became an artist instead of going to college because I am a free-spirit. I want to express myself. And I know some people might not like that kind of an attitude, but those people just need to loosen up and not be so tense. My strategy is to be true to myself always and not let other people control me.
GORDON, 40, mechanic Gordon: I am a very logical thinker. I don't have much time for emotional garbage. Basically, I want the million dollars. I don't care if your dying mother is hooked up to life support. I want the million dollars. Period.
IVAN, 23, computer technician Ivan: I don't have the brawn, but I do have the brains and I hope that will be enough to tip the scales in my favor.
JASMINE, 21, singer Jasmine: So, I know a lot of people are going to be wondering what am I going to bring to the game? Well, I'm good at socializing, I've got like a ton of friends. So I can make people like believe things that aren't true. And I can flirt with the boys if I have to. It's going to be a fun game.
JOHN, 30, youth pastor John: I want to win this game as much as anyone else and I am going to do what is necessary. But I hope that I won't have to lie or cheat to win, because it would be hard for me to do that. Anyway, I'm just hoping to win this for my family and the kids back home who are looking up to me.
LUCIE, 24, small business owner Lucie: I did not start my own business at 21 years old by being weak-willed. A lot of people told me I couldn't do it, but I did. I don't let other people tell me what I can or can't do. I do what I think is right - always.
MADISYN, 18, high school student Madisyn: I am the youngest here, and I believe that puts a target on my back, but I believe I am much smarter than people give me credit for and I think I can surprise a lot of people.
MEGAN, 36, bank teller Megan: Being a bank teller, I know what it's like to have a lot of money in my hands. Now I get the chance to make that money mine. I'm not going to let this chance slip away from me.
RACHEL, 40, homemaker Rachel: I know this sounds bad, since I watch a lot of TV shows, but really, I am here for the experience. I just want to have fun. And if I win a million dollars along the way, all the better right?
TYANA, 22, waitress Tyana: I'm a little bit naughty, I know, but I'm going to use that to my advantage. I'm going to try to push people's buttons and get them to do things without knowing what they are doing.
WILLIAM, 26, unemployed William: So... I lost my job recently... and I'm hoping I can win, so that I can get back on my feet. Yeah. We'll see what happens.
Which one of these 18 people will end up winning Ashna Island? Find out as the game unfolds!

The 18 castaways walk off the boat and see the host, Nick, standing on the beach. Nick: Welcome, castaways, to Ashna Island, your new home for the duration of this game. As you know, you are here to win a million dollars and only one of you can win that prize. Every round, there will be a challenge where two of you will win the power to join a group known as the Council. The two winners will choose a third member who will round out the Council for that round. The remaining players will become Laborers. Only Laborers may do work. If a Council member does work, he or she will forfeit Council power and be downgraded to a Laborer, so remember that. Each Council member will nominate one Laborer for elimination and the non-nominated Laborers will vote to banish one of the nominated players off of the island. One by one, you’ll be eliminated, until you reach the final round where all the banished castaways will vote for who they want to win the one million dollars. So that’s the game. Are you ready? Because we’re already going to begin our first challenge.
COUNCIL CHALLENGE #1 – Flag Run For this challenge, the 18 players will be randomly paired into 9 teams of two. Each team will be given a map, showing the location of seven flags in their pair’s color. The team must collect all seven flag, then go to another point on the island where they will ascend a mud hill to reach a flag pole. The team must attach all seven flags to the pole and raise the flags to win the challenge. The winning pair joins the Council and gets to choose the third Council member from the remaining players.
The teams for this challenge are: FRANK & LUCIE (red) WILLIAM & BROCK (orange) GINNY & JASMINE (yellow) CHARLOTTE & RACHEL (green) IVAN & TYANA (blue) ACE & MADISYN (purple) CHIP & JOHN (brown) ALEXA & MEGAN (black) ASHER & GORDON (white)
Nick: You all have your maps... so is everybody ready? GO! The teams opened their maps and began trying to plan the best possible route to reach each flag. After a few seconds, the teams began moving out. Some of the teams, such as Ace & Madisyn and Chip & John made quick work picking up flags, while other teams had some difficulties.
[Ginny: Apparently, Jasmine didn’t know how to read a map, so she gave it to me and, really, I’m not good with maps either. So we were pretty lost for like the whole time. Jasmine: We sucked. Ginny: Yeah.]
Rachel: We’re at the X, so where’s our flag? Charlotte: I have no idea... [Charlotte: Rachel and I had to find the green flags. And the jungle is green, so we couldn’t find them. It was frustrating.]
Brock soon got frustrated with William for not moving as fast as he was and for walking through most of the challenge. On the other hand, Megan was impressed with Alexa, somebody who she did not expect to hold up so well under the circumstances. Although they didn’t realize it, Megan and Alexa were actually in first place for much of the challenge. Soon they had collected their last flag and were headed towards the mud hill.
Megan: Here we are... wow, that really is a mud hill. [Megan: Okay, when Nick told us we had to climb up a mud hill... I didn’t really understand what he meant. But it was literally a mud hill. That mud was thick. As soon as you stepped it, you started sinking. It was so hard to move.] Megan and Alexa tried to climb up the hill, but had a hard time of it. However, as they were the only team there at that point, they kept going. Soon however, Chip & John and Ace & Madisyn arrived. Asher & Gordon came shortly afterwards, making it a four-way race to the finish. Chip & John slogged through the mud, but John got stuck. Both Asher & Gordon got stuck shortly afterwards. [Asher: The mud was a nightmare. My legs went straight down into it as soon as I stepped in that thing and I could not get out. Gordon tried to pull me up, but he got stuck too. It was nuts.] Ace & Madisyn managed to work through their way through the mud slowly and surely. Since Madisyn was lighter than everyone else, she was able to move quickly without sinking too much, while Ace was able to power his way through. However, it was not enough to beat Alexa and Megan to the top. Megan: Alexa, we made it. Get the flags, get the flags! Alexa: Oh... oh no! Megan: What? Alexa: One of our flags is missing! Alexa looked behind her and saw the flag resting on the mud down the hill. She quickly ran down to try to retrieve it. But it was no use. Ace and Madisyn were able to reach the top of the hill and with all seven flags present, Madisyn attached them and quickly raised them. Nick: ACE AND MADISYN WIN THE CHALLENGE! Ace and Madisyn hugged while Megan silently cursed her luck. Nick: Now, Ace and Madisyn, you have a decision to make. Who will be the third council member? Ace: Now? Nick: Now. Ace and Madisyn discussed and came to an agreement quickly. Madisyn: We pick Megan, because she came so close to winning and she seems like she’d be a good choice for the Council. Megan: Thank you so much guys! Nick: Okay then... the Council for this round has been decided – Ace, Madisyn, and Megan. Tomorrow each of you will make your decisions for who will be nominated and the day after, the Laborers will vote for who will be eliminated. I’ll see you tomorrow. Follow your maps to your campsite.
After the eighteen regrouped from being scattered during the challenge, they began the journey to the designated campsite. When they arrived they saw there was nothing there. They’d have to create everything themselves. That’s when Ace began to feel the hurt of the no working rule. [Ace: It was just torture for me to see everybody working and to know that I couldn’t do that and I couldn’t help. I really wanted to, but I didn’t want to lose my Council spot. It was tough.] Gordon, the mechanic, lead the 15 Laborers, assigning jobs and making sure things got done. Most people appreciated this, however, some did not. [Tyana: Gordon is really bossy. And he micromanages everything. I wish he would just you know, leave us alone sometimes instead of barking orders so much.] The three Council members decided to observe and talk to everyone instead of just sit off to the side. The Laborers were friendly with them and many tried to plead their case. In particular, Brock pulled Madisyn aside and told her to nominate William because he was a horrible challenge partner and he didn’t work as hard as the others. Meanwhile, Ace observed Charlotte and Rachel spent more time talking to each other instead of working.
DAY 2 On Day 2, the Laborers awoke and continued the work they had started the day before. Meanwhile, the three Council members went off to discuss their nominations. Ace: It’s difficult since we don’t know what criteria we should use to put people up. Madisyn: I know. Megan: Well, I already know who I’m putting up. Alexa. Madisyn: Because she lost your flag? Megan: Yeah. [Madisyn: Megan wants to put up Alexa because Alexa lost the flag in the challenge. I think that’s stupid, but I’m not going to say anything, since really, I could care less if Alexa goes or not. If she wants to be stupid, I’m going to let her be stupid.] Ace: What about you, Maddy? Who are you putting up? Madisyn: Not sure yet... Ace: Same with me. I guess we’ll just have to decide at the Nomination Ceremony.
Among the Laborers, some of them were beginning to form bonds. Tyana, Alexa, Jasmine, and Ginny enjoyed talking and working together. However, some castaways such as Ivan and Lucie had difficulty opening up. They did work, but remained fairly quiet when in a group setting. [John: Ivan and Lucie, especially Lucie, haven’t really talked much. I have talked to Ivan, but when I try to talk to Lucie, she seems to get upset. Maybe she’s just trying to be secretive or something, but it’s very off-putting] Brock continued to be upset with William for his performance in the challenge. He continued to pressure Madisyn to put him up. When Madisyn talked to Ace and Megan about it, she found he had not talked to either of them about it. This frustrated Madisyn. [Madisyn: I think what Brock is saying is true, William really doesn’t work as hard as the others. But if he thinks he can pressure me because I’m a young girl... I’m not going to stand for that.] NOMINATION CEREMONY The Nomination Ceremony came that evening. The three Council members were seated on a platform with three chairs on the left while three empty chairs faced them on the right. Nick opened the ceremony. Nick: Welcome. It is now time to nominate. One at a time, you will stand up, come to the center and explain your choice for nomination. The nominated individual will then take one of the empty seats. Once all three seats have been filled, each person will have a minute to plead their case. Then the Ceremony will be over. We will start with Megan. Megan: The person who I’m nominating is Alexa. Alexa: What? Megan: Alexa, you ruined the challenge for me by losing the flag. So I’m sorry, but I have to nominate you. Nick: Alexa, please take a seat. [Chip: Megan nominated Alexa because she lost a flag? Are you kidding me? What an idiot! She can’t think of anything better to do with her choice than be a sore loser?] Nick: Ace, come up next. Ace: I wish I didn’t have to make this choice.... and I have nothing against the person I am nominating. But I have to nominate Rachel. I don’t feel like you are working as hard as you should be. I hope you don’t go, but I have to nominate someone. Nick: Rachel, please join Alexa. Next up, Madisyn. Madisyn: Okay, the person I’m nominating is... Brock. Brock, you have been trying to push me around to nominate somebody for a reason that I don’t agree with. And you keep doing it and doing it and frankly, I can’t stand it. Your attitude sucks. So I’m putting you up. Nick: Brock, please join Alexa and Rachel. Now each of you will have one minute to plead your case. We will start with Alexa. Alexa: Okay, you guys, like, I deserve to stay. I have been working hard and you all know that. And I think it’s stupid that I can be eliminated from the whole game because I lost Megan’s flag, because Megan was as much a part of the team as I was. I think if Megan didn’t want to lose, she should have held her own damn flag. So that’s all. Thank you. Rachel: I really want to be here... this is the adventure of a lifetime for me. I’m just a country mom from Nebraska, I’ve never been anywhere before. I think you guys know that I have been working. I have. But if you think I haven’t been working enough, I will work more... I apologize... please keep me. Brock: Okay, this is ridiculous. I should not be up here. If anyone should be up here, it should be William. I have worked hard, I did well in the challenge. And Madisyn saying that I pushed her around? Bull. Madisyn, you don’t deserve to be a Council member. If you’re going to make decisions like that and go around telling lies about my character, you don’t deserve it. I don’t care who you guys all vote for, but please don’t vote for me, because I deserve to stay. Thanks. Nick: Okay. The Nomination Ceremony is over. But please don’t go anywhere... we are heading straight into the Banishing Ceremony. The Banishing Ceremony will not always be immediately after the Nomination Ceremony, but for this round it will be. One at a time, each of the non-nominated Laborers will go to the voting hut, where you will cast your vote. You may do that now. We will start with Jasmine.
Jasmine votes. John votes. Lucie votes. Tyana votes. William votes for BROCK. [William: Brock... shut up. Thank you.] Asher votes. Charlotte votes for BROCK. [Charlotte: If you’re not eliminated after that horrific rant of yours, there’s something wrong with the people here.] Chip votes for ALEXA. [Chip: This is a difficult decision, but I’m basically voting for Alexa on the premise that she’s the strongest player up there and I want to eliminate the competition. Brock is an idiot and Rachel is weak, so they can be kicked off at any time. Alexa is someone you want to kick off while you have the chance. So Alexa, sorry girl, but I’m voting for you.] Frank votes. Ginny votes. Gordon votes for RACHEL. [Gordon: Rachel... you’re not working. You’re not carrying your own weight. So you get my vote.] Ivan votes.
NICK: That’s the last vote. I will now tally the votes and return with the results. Nick entered the hut, counted the votes, and came back to the assembly. Nick: The votes were divided 6-4-2. The person who received 2 votes was...
RACHEL.
Rachel, you may rejoin the Laborers.
That leaves Alexa and Brock. The person who received 6 votes and the first person banished from Ashna Island is...
BROCK. Brock, you have been banished from Ashna Island. Please leave immediately. Brock nodded and quietly took his walk to the waiting motorboat, becoming the first person to leave Ashna Island.

Last time on Ashna Island, -The castaways arrived on Ashna Island and soon began the first challenge. Ace & Madisyn won and selected Megan to be the third Council member. -Gordon began leading the Laborers, giving them direction on what to do. -Brock began pressuring Madisyn to nominate William, a move which resulted in Madisyn nominating Brock instead. -Ace nominated Rachel because he felt like she was not working as much as the other players and Megan nominated Alexa for losing the flag in the first Council challenge. -Brock was voted off in 6-4-2 vote, becoming the first player eliminated from Ashna Island. What will happen next?
Day 3 On Day 3, everybody woke up and began working as usual, only this time everyone worked a bit harder. Gordon continued to direct the Laborers and made sure that Rachel did more work. [Gordon: I voted for Rachel. It’s not that I don’t like her personally, it’s just that she has not been taking the game very seriously. Since I don’t want her to leave, I’m giving her more opportunity to step up. Really, there are a lot of people I’d like to see leave before her.] However, the one person who didn’t work very hard was William. William, Frank, and Lucie were assigned to go find coconuts, but William left the job of climbing up the tree to Lucie. [Frank: I don’t understand why William wouldn’t try. We wanted him to try, but he kept protesting. I don’t know why he’s making a girl like Lucie do this work when he’s a capable young man. Call me old-fashioned, but that just isn’t right.] Ace continued to dislike being unable to work. [Ace: I’m still really... really annoyed at not being able to work. I want to work so bad, but I’m still on the Council until the new Council members come in. I am happy that I get immunity and all, but I want to contribute and I feel bad that I can’t.] The four girls – Ginny, Jasmine, Alexa, and Tyana – continued to hang together and seemed to be forming an alliance. Ginny recommended bringing Madisyn into their group, but Alexa and Tyana quickly shot down that idea. Ginny was frustrated that she wasn’t being listened to, but decided to go along with the other girls for the time being. Meanwhile, Jasmine revealed that she was a famous singer. Jasmine: One thing I like about this game is that I get to meet like lots of new people. I mean, I have like over a thousand friends and I like getting to meet more, so... Ginny: You have over a thousand friends? Jasmine: Yeah, I told you, I’m a famous singer... and actress, kind of. I was in a commercial once. But I’m more of a singer. Ginny: Oh, I see. [Ginny: I really do not like these girls. But somehow, I’m stuck with them, because... I feel dirty saying this, but I need the numbers.] [Alexa: We all really seem to like, be getting along... this island sucks, but at least the girls are making it tolerable living here.]
That afternoon, it came time for the next Council Challenge. COUNCIL CHALLENGE #2 – Island Quiz Nick: Welcome. It’s time for your second Council Challenge. As you all know, you are stranded on an island. But how much do you know about other islands? Every one of you will be handed a chalk board. I will be asking you a series of true or false questions about different islands in the world and you will write your answer on the board. Get it right, you move on. Get it wrong, and you are out of the challenge. Last two players standing will win a Council spot – immunity and the opportunity to nominate someone for elimination. Ready? Let’s begin.
Question 1. The Solomon Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean. True or False? Reveal your answers now. TRUE: Chip, Ginny, Gordon, Jasmine FALSE: Ace, Alexa, Asher, Charlotte, Frank, Ivan, John, Lucie, Madisyn, Megan, Rachel, Tyana, William The correct answer is ‘False’. Chip, Ginny, Gordon, and Jasmine – take a seat. Ginny: I’ve never heard of the Solomon Islands in my life. Jasmine: Me neither. Tyana: I guessed. William: You’re not the only one.
Okay. Question 2. The first island Christopher Columbus landed on is now known as Hispaniola. True or False? Reveal your answers now. True: Alexa, Charlotte, Frank, Madisyn, Megan, Rachel, William False: Ace, Asher, Ivan, John, Lucie, Tyana Well, I’m sorry to say this, but the correct answer is actually ‘False’. Columbus landed on San Salvador. Alexa, Charlotte, Frank, Madisyn, Megan, Rachel, William – you are all eliminated. Tyana: Oh my gosh! Hah! Ace: Shoot... I was trying to get it wrong! Nick: Ace, you don’t want to be Council? Ace: I want to work, man. Nick: Well, let’s see about the next question then.
Question 3. The dominant religion of the Maldives is Islam. True or False? Reveal your answers now. True: Asher, Ivan, John False: Ace, Lucie, Tyana And the correct answer is... True. Ace: Thank you! Tyana: Darn. Nick: So three remain, but only two will win the challenge. How are you guys feeling? Ivan: Easy. John: Same. Nick: Asher? Asher: I’m surviving. Nick: Well, the next question is going to be different. I’m going to ask you to give me a number and the two players who come closest to the correct number will win the challenge. So on to the last question.
Question 4. How many islands are in the Philippine archipelago? Reveal your answers now. Asher: 120 Ivan: 1,000 John: 7,107 Nick: The correct answer is... 7,107. John, you got it exactly right. John: I’ve been there! I knew that one. Nick: Asher, not even close. Asher: Eh... on the map it doesn’t look there are that many. Nick: Well, I guess I will now present you with your two new Council members – John and Ivan! Now, I will ask you to pick the third Council member please. John and Ivan conferred with each other and came to a decision. John: We pick Madisyn. Madisyn: What? Seriously? All right! [John: The reason Ivan and I picked Madisyn was... she had been on the Council before, and based on her nomination last time, we knew that she was stronger than she looked. So we figured picking Madisyn would be a safe choice.] Nick: Alright then, I give you your new Council for this round – John, Ivan, and Madisyn. You will make your nominations tomorrow. I’ll see you then.
Back at camp, the ejected Council members, Ace and Megan, started working for the first time, Ace much more eagerly than Megan. Gordon was impressed with Ace. [Gordon: Ace is an amazing worker. Powerhouse. He has a great attitude. Not too many people in this world actually want to work like he does. I hope he’s a positive influence to the other Laborers.] Later that evening, Alexa was upset that Madisyn was on the Council twice in a row. [Alexa: I don’t understand that... Madisyn isn’t going to work again while the rest of us all slave away. Uh, I want her gone.]
DAY 4 On the morning of Day 4, the three Council members met to discuss their nominations. John: So really, I have no idea who I will nominate. What do you two think? Ivan: I don’t think it’d be wise to rock the boat right now. I say we pick off weak workers. People who aren’t pulling their weight. Madisyn: I agree... Ivan: I’m putting up William for sure. Every time I hear people talk about him it’s about how lazy he is. Madisyn: Well then, I’m putting up Charlotte. I don’t know how much she can contribute... I imagine that if we can get William to actually do some work, he can do more work than Charlotte does now. [Madisyn: Charlotte’s a wonderful person to have around camp, but she’s kind of old and she doesn’t do the same amount of work as everyone else. So, if anyone’s going to go, it might as well be one of the weak links.] Ivan: That makes sense to me. John? John: No idea... I guess... I’ll just have to pick someone. Not sure yet. But I’ll be sure to run it by you guys before I do anything. [John: The discussion went well. Madisyn and I got along really well. I think she’s an amazing young lady. She’s the same age as a lot of the kids in my youth group, which is made up of late teens to early twenties, so I like having her around.]
John decided to go socialize with the other people to see if that would help him choose somebody to nominate. He knew that he would not nominate one of the four girls – Ginny, Jasmine, Alexa, and Tyana – as he didn’t want to upset such a large group. That left only a few possible options. He talked to Chip about it and Chip recommended Lucie. Chip: Has she talked to you yet? John: No. Chip: Me neither. John: Well, I mean, I’ve tried talking to her and she didn’t have much of anything to say back. Chip: Same. [John: Chip and I were partners in the first challenge. I don’t know if I can trust him necessarily, but I do feel like I know him better than the other people. So I felt like this time, it was okay for me to discuss this with him.] John: I can try again. Chip: Might as well.
So John went to talk to Lucie again. John: Lucie, I need to talk to you. Lucie: Alright. What’s going on? John: I’m going to be really honest with you. I have to make a nomination and it’s looking so far like you’re going to be put up. Lucie: Okay. John: Can you tell me why I should not put you up? Lucie: Hasn’t my work ethic spoken for itself? I’ve worked really hard. John: Yes, but nobody really has much of a bond with you... you know? Lucie: Well, I’m not really here to make friends. John: Okay... okay... well, I’ll keep thinking about it. Lucie: You do that. Bye, John. John: Right. [Lucie: A lot of people say I’m standoffish. I don’t understand them. I’m here to win the game. I’m not here to be everyone’s friend. I mean some of these people... I don’t know what they think they’re doing, but they’re definitely not playing the same game I’m playing, that’s for sure.]
NOMINATION CEREMONY #2 That evening, the nomination ceremony was set up the same as last time, with the three chairs for the Council members and the three chairs for those to be nominated. The only difference was that while before there were 18 lit torches around the back of the platform, there were now only 17 to represent Brock’s ouster from the game. Nick opened the ceremony and called Madisyn up to make the first nomination. Madisyn: I don’t like having to do this, but I’m going to have to nominate Charlotte. Charlotte... I like you, but I just question your ability to keep up with the rest of the people here. I hope you stay, but you’re going to have to work harder to prove yourself. [Alexa: Okay, Madisyn telling Charlotte... to WORK? That’s like the tortoise telling the hare to go faster! Madisyn, you haven’t done one iota of work since you got here. So shut up about work!] Nick: Charlotte, please take a seat. Next, Ivan. Ivan: The person I’m nominating is William. William, the round and the last round... you have not done very much work. There is no reason for us to keep you here. So I’m nominating you. Nick: William, please take a seat. And finally, John. John: Well... I hate having to do this... heh, maybe I’m should start throwing challenges so that I don’t have to nominate people. [Asher: John...what?] [Ginny: Okay, so nobody said anything during the meeting... but John’s comment about throwing challenges just so that he wouldn’t have to nominate people.... you could tell people definitely did not like him saying that.] John: But I’m going to have to nominate Lucie. I just... I have to put someone up, and I don’t know you that well. Sorry. That’s all. Nick: Alright. The nominees for expulsion are Charlotte, William, and Lucie. You each have one minute to defend yourselves. We start with Charlotte. Charlotte: Okay, so I understand what you are saying, Madisyn, however, I would like to say that I have worked as hard as I am capable of working. But I will try to do more if that’s what you want from me. I want to stay. I want to play. And I hope that you all appreciate how I do my best to always lighten the mood at camp. Thank you. William: Well. A lot of the time, people I say I don’t work. It’s because they keep assigning me tasks I can’t do, and a lot of that is Gordon’s fault. So... I will work harder, it’s just that I need to be given tasks I can actually do. You guys really should keep me. Lucie: Okay, I’m getting pretty tired of people getting upset with me because I don’t talk enough. Seriously? What are we, in kindergarten? This isn’t a game about who can talk the most. I don’t think I need to defend myself, because really I didn’t do anything wrong. So... there you go. That’s all I have to say. Nick: That’s all. Now concerning the Banishing Ceremony... it’ll be held first thing tomorrow morning. So nominees... you have all of tonight to plead your cause. Good luck.
The 17 remaining players returned to camp. Alexa, Tyana, Jasmine, and Ginny all gathered together to discuss how they would vote. Alexa was furious with Madisyn for suggesting that Charlotte didn’t work hard enough when Madisyn had yet to do any work, and she told Charlotte that she and the other three girls were definitely going to support her. She suggested they all vote for William. Rachel was with Charlotte at this time and she was relieved to hear that her friend was getting such support.
Lucie meanwhile did not talk very much that night and did not plead her case, continuing to believe that she did nothing wrong, so it was not unnecessary for her to defend herself. [Lucie: If John wants to play that kind of game, then that’s what he’s going to do. Bring it on.]
Gordon and Frank later talked to Charlotte and told her that they too would support her. William tried to talk to them earlier, but the three got into a clash about Gordon giving William difficult assignments. Gordon: It’s disgusting. He does nothing. Meanwhile, you have people like Ace who couldn’t wait to pitch in. We got to rid of this guy. He’s utterly useless to everyone. Charlotte: Thank you all so much for supporting me. [Charlotte: I was surprised... I think almost everyone who could vote came up to me and told me they would not vote for me. I was so relieved. It’s a great feeling to see you have so much support.]
Day 5
The 17 castaways woke up on the morning of Day 5 and the Laborers did a few morning chores. A dejected William meanwhile sat out looking at the ocean. [William: I already know I’m leaving today, so I’m just enjoying the island while I can. It sucks. But... I guess this is life.] About an hour later, everyone went off to the Banishing Ceremony to cast their votes.
BANISHING CEREMONY #2 Nick: Welcome everyone. I’m sure you all know how this works. Eleven of you will be casting votes – the eleven Laborers who have not been nominated. So we will start by calling up Ace. Go to the voting hut and cast your vote. Ace votes. Alexa votes. Asher votes. Chip votes. Frank votes. Ginny votes. Gordon votes for WILLIAM. [Gordon: I can’t stand you and if I’m fortunate I won’t have to see you again for a very long time.] Jasmine votes. Megan votes. Rachel votes for WILLIAM. [Rachel: This is not so much a vote against William as it is a vote for Charlotte... best of luck in life, Will.] Tyana votes.
Nick: That’s the last vote. I will now tally the votes and return with the results.
Nick: Well... I guess you all know what is coming. After Day 2’s scattered vote, this round, the vote was unanimous. Receiving all 11 votes, the second person banished from Ashna Island is....
WILLIAM. William, you have been banished from Ashna Island. Please leave immediately. William smiled at the other contestants and walked to the waiting motorboat, appearing pleased to be free from the island. He was the second person to be eliminated – now 16 remained.

Last time on Ashna Island... -John and Ivan won the Islands Quiz challenge and the two chose Madisyn to return to the Council. John and Madisyn bonded during the experience, with John, a youth pastor, greatly admiring Madisyn for her maturity at her young age. -At the Nomination Ceremony, Ivan nominated William and Madisyn nominated Charlotte. Both said that their nominees needed to work harder. Alexa, who already disliked Madisyn, was now angry at her for saying that Charlotte had to work harder when Madisyn had yet to do any work since the beginning of the game. -John nominated Lucie for being standoffish and not bonding with the rest of the group. However, during the nomination ceremony, he made a comment about throwing challenges so he wouldn’t have to nominate any more people – a comment which irked the Laborers. -That night, all the Laborers came to support Charlotte, saying that they would not vote her off. William tried to talk to Gordon and Frank about keeping him, but the conversation soon resulted in argument. Lucie, meanwhile, refused to defend herself to anyone. -At the Banishing Ceremony, William was voted off in a unanimous 11-0-0 vote, becoming the second player banished from Ashna Island. What will happen next?
Day 5 The afternoon of William’s eviction was not very eventful. Everybody was in agreement that he should go, so nobody was any worse for wear at the end of the ceremony. Alexa, however, was still upset about Madisyn’s comments and made sure to tell as many people as she thought she could get away with by slipping little barbs about Madisyn into conversation through the day. Alexa: Asher... working hard? Asher: Yeah. Why? Alexa: Nothing... isn’t it great that we get to work? Unlike those snobby Council members, especially Madisyn, you know she wanted to be picked just so that she wouldn’t have to work again. Tyana: Uh, so true Alexa. Madisyn... what a waste of space! Asher: I don’t think she’s snobby about it. Alexa: Well, of course she wouldn’t show it to you. But just watch and you’ll see.
Alexa: Hi Charlotte, hi Rachel... so sorry that Madisyn nominated you, Charlotte. That should never have happened. I think that you work hard. Charlotte: Thank you, Alexa. That’s really sweet of you. [Alexa: I’m trying to turn the tide of the game against Madisyn. She’s had too much power and she thinks she’s like better than everyone else and like, she really needs to go as soon as possible.]
Despite the fact that she still didn’t feel like she had done anything wrong, Lucie decided to try to be a little more social and began talking to Megan and Frank. Lucie and Frank got along well as Lucie appreciated how sensible Frank seemed. [Lucie: I’m trying to get out there a little bit more to try to “bond” at all, but it’s kind of difficult. I don’t want to mess anything up in the game, but people thought my reticence before was bad too, since I might as well do this talking thing to see if that improves the situation.]
Day 6 COUNCIL CHALLENGE #3 – Balance Beams Nick: Welcome everyone to the third Council Challenge. There are 16 of you left. Half of 16 is 8. Half of 8 is 4 and half of 4 is 2... and 2 is the number of Council Challenge winners we will have today. As you can see, there are 16 balance beams in front of you. On my go, each of you will try to walk across the balance beam. The first 8 to make it move on. Then the 16 balance beams will be rearranged to form eight beams of two segments. This time the first four to make it across move on. The beams will double in length again, becoming four beams of four segments each. The first two to make it across this time will be your Council Challenge winners. Simple enough. Understand? So get to your beams and wait for my go.
Ready? Balance!
The sixteen players each tried to walk across the beams. Some had difficulty, but some made it across quickly with no problems at all. Nick: Alexa is across! Madisyn is across! Ace... Ginny... Jasmine... Tyana.... two spots left! It looked like it would be a four-way race between Lucie, Asher, Chip, and Rachel. However, Rachel fell and Lucie was not able to go fast enough to beat Asher and Chip to the end. Nick: That’s it! The first eight across are moving on... Alexa, Madisyn, Ace, Ginny, Jasmine, Tyana, Asher and Chip. We will now rearrange the beams... done. Now get in positions again... and go!
Round 2 was different from Round 1, as consistency meant more than speed. A lot of people ended up falling near the end. Two people however made it to the end without incident – Jasmine and Ginny. Nick: Two spots left! Over and over again, the remaining six made it close, but just fell off near the end. Asher however had the slow-and-steady strategy necessary to make it to the end. Nick: Asher makes it across. One spot left... and it looks like it’ll be a race between Alexa and Madisyn. When Alexa saw that it was between her and Madisyn, she began to move just a little bit faster. Madisyn tried to stay calm, but ended up going more slowly because of it, resulting in Alexa making it to the end first. Nick: Alexa is across! Get ready for the final round then... Jasmine, Ginny, Asher, and Alexa. First two across will make it to the Council. Ready? GO! Alexa took the lead, but fell off after the first segment. Jasmine, Ginny, and Asher kept going without falling. None of them fell and it soon became apparent that if they kept it up, they could make it all the way the first time through. Jasmine kept her cool and triumphantly made it across. Nick: JASMINE is first! Jasmine: YEAH! Asher and Ginny now battled for second. Right then though, Asher stumbled. Ginny got excited, realizing that she was almost at the end. But then... she fell off too. The two raced back to the beginning. Alexa was now on the third segment and was heading to the end. It looked like she might come from behind to make it, but no. She also fell off. Nick: Everyone is starting from the beginning! Jasmine: Come on, guys, you can do it! The game continued. A flustered Alexa however was not able to get back into her groove and never recovered her composure after her second fall. Asher and Ginny pulled ahead. Ginny, however, had an unfortunate slip. Learning from his previous mistakes, Asher was able to hold steady this time around and made it across. Nick: ASHER is second! That’s the end of it. Jasmine and Asher are now on the Council! Jasmine excitedly jumped up and down giving Asher a big hug. Jasmine: This is so cool! Oh my gosh!! Asher: Yeah. Awesome... Nick: Jasmine and Asher, you must now pick your third member.
Jasmine and Asher discussed. Jasmine: I say we pick Alexa. Asher: Really? In that case, I say we dip our heads in a pot of boiling oil. Jasmine: You don’t like Alexa? Asher: Um... not really no. Jasmine: What about Ginny? Pick Ginny. Asher: Jasmine, be quiet. I say we pick Charlotte. Jasmine: But she’s old. Asher: Jasmine... you do realize it won’t be too too long before you’re her age. Jasmine: Huh? Asher: Great. Nick! Nick: Yes, Asher. Asher: We’re picking Charlotte. [Asher: The thing I learned from the last two days is that Charlotte is actually popular among the people here... so picking her may actually curry some favour for us. And since Council members can’t work... might as well pick somebody who doesn’t work that much anyway.] Nick: So there you have it.... your new Council – Jasmine, Asher, and Charlotte. Nomination Ceremony will be tomorrow afternoon. Good luck making your decision.
After the challenge, everyone returned to camp. John, Ivan, and Madisyn became Laborers however they continued to talk and seemed to get along well, although it was clear that John and Madisyn were closer to each other than Ivan was with either of them. Alexa made sure to watch Madisyn closely after she became a Laborer and she quickly picked up on this. That night, Alexa, Jasmine, Ginny, and Tyana gathered to discuss the game. Alexa: Jasmine, you know, you got to put up Madisyn. She has to go as soon as possible. Tyana: Yes, Jasmine, you have to get rid of her. Jasmine: And what if we can’t get rid of her, who else? Alexa: Get John. John is like her alliance partner. I bet they have an alliance to take each other to the end or something. Jasmine: That’s so rude, what about the rest of us. Alexa: Exactly, they will try to eliminate you the first chance they get, Jasmine. Don’t forget that I warned you about this. They’re no good.
Also that night, John came up to Asher to congratulate him on his win. John: So who are you thinking of putting up? Asher: I might just put up somebody who hasn’t been working. I don’t know. John: Well... you’re not going to put me up? Asher: Ah, no, you’re safe. Most of the people here I want to stay. If you’re asking about last round’s Council... I like all of you, so don’t worry about it. For now anyway, heh. So were you serious about throwing challenges? John: Oh that... no. Why? Asher: Just some people seemed to not like it that you said that. John: Oh... well, thanks for telling me. I’ll keep that in mind. [Asher: I like John. I don’t think he really has the personality to stay very long in this game, but I still like him. He’s a good guy.]
Day 7 On the morning of Day 7, the three Council members finally came together to discuss their ideas for nominations. Jasmine: Well, how about we start with Charlotte. Charlotte who do you nominate? Charlotte: Well, really, I’m going to have to put up Madisyn, since she put me up last time. At this Asher seemed to freeze. He pursed his lips, waiting to see what would happen next. Jasmine: Oh, well, hm. I guess, I guess I have to put up.... John... because he... well... he said that he didn’t want to play challenges, so he is like... he doesn’t want to be here. Asher furrowed his brows at this, becoming incredibly suspicious that something was going on. Charlotte: Well, Asher, who will you put up? Asher: I don’t... I don’t know... I’ll have to think about it. Charlotte: Okay then. Well, I think we’re done then. See you all this afternoon. [Asher: Okay, I never wanted for Madisyn to be nominated. At this point, I still want her to stay. But if she gets nominated... I think for sure she’s going to be eliminated. And John too... both of them are very strong, they may be seen as threats and one of them will go. So I’m very scared right now. Picking Charlotte... was probably a big mistake. I didn’t think about her nominating Madisyn, but really... I should have.]
After the meeting, Asher very discreetly walked over to John and Madisyn. Asher: John... hey. Just want you to know... Charlotte and Jasmine are going to nominate you and Madisyn this afternoon. John: What? Madisyn, come over here. Listen to this. Asher: Charlotte said she’d nominate Madisyn and right afterwards, Jasmine kind of flustered her way through saying she’d nominate you. John: I don’t believe for one second that she’d have picked me on her own. Asher: Me neither. She’s being told what to do by someone. Madisyn: Alexa. Alexa wants me gone and she must think John and I are together or something. Asher: Well I don’t want either of you to go. Madisyn: Then nominate someone who will get votes instead of one of us. Asher: But who? John: Asher... just nominate Alexa. Put her up. Asher: Would people vote for her over you two? Madisyn: We’ll make it happen. Don’t worry. [Madisyn: So... we have a bit of a situation here. But thankfully, Asher warned us beforehand. So John and I are going to plan a way to work together to knock out Alexa. Here’s hoping...]
John and Madisyn quickly stepped up their social game, trying to talk to as many people as possible and giving them a good opinion of them both. Alexa noticed this right away. Alexa: It’s like they know they will be nominated and they are trying to save themselves... why else would they... ASHER! Furious, Alexa gathered her three girls and told them about what happened. Alexa: This means war girls! The four of them began countering by encouraging people to vote for Madisyn, before the nominations had even been announced. Some people, such as Rachel, noticed this. [Rachel: The girls are being very aggressive. I don’t like it. I don’t think Madisyn has done anything wrong. They should back off. I’m not going to be intimidated by them, that’s for sure.]
NOMINATION CEREMONY #3 Nick opened the ceremony. This time the platform held only 16 torches to symbolize William’s departure. Jasmine, Asher, and Charlotte sat in the three Council seats. Nick then called up Charlotte to make the first nomination. Charlotte: I really don’t have anything against anyone here... so I’m putting up Madisyn just because she put me up last time. No other reason. It’s just the game. Nick: Madisyn, please take a seat. Jasmine, you are next. Jasmine: I have to pick John, because John, like, last time... you um, said you didn’t want to be here... so I have to nominate you, because you don’t want to play anymore and that’s not good. Sorry. Nick: John, please take a seat. Asher, you are next. Asher: Well... I’m nominating Alexa. Alexa: WHAT?! Asher: Alexa... I feel like you have been pushing people around in this game. It’s not necessary. So I have to nominate you. It’s just strategy. Nick: Alexa, please take a seat. The nominees for expulsion are Madisyn, John, and Alexa. Each of you will now have one minute to defend yourselves. We start with Madisyn. Madisyn: Hello everyone. I know you haven’t seen me do very much... besides be on the Council, but I assure you that I can contribute and I have contributed since leaving the Council. Please let me stay. John: Well, okay... all I have to say is Jasmine, you are lying to everyone and we all know it. When I said I would throw challenges, I meant.... that I didn’t like nominating people because I don’t want to be the bad guy. I didn’t mean that I didn’t want to play anymore. You guys know that I want to be here, I love it here. Please don't eliminate me for that. Thank you. Alexa: Okay, the reason you should save me is because you should all be voting for someone else. That someone else is Madisyn. Madisyn has done very little work yet she feels like she can criticize those who have done work. I’m sure you know that I have worked loads since the beginning of this game. Based just on that, Madisyn has to go which means I should stay. Thank you.
Nick: Okay.... the Banishing Ceremony will be held in thirty minutes. I’ll see you back here then.
[Madisyn: Oh gosh... John and I had thirty minutes to convince people to vote for Alexa... and Alexa had been starting her smear campaign against me since the time I was on the Council. I was nervous... really nervous.] Madisyn and John quickly tried to talk to as many people as they could about voting for Alexa. Asher even got in. Madisyn and John were surprised to find a vocal supporter in Megan, but it made sense considering her first attempt to eliminate Alexa had failed. However, Alexa, Tyana, Jasmine, and Ginny were also there pushing people to vote for Madisyn or John – just so long as it was not Alexa. Tyana was able to get Chip and Ace to admit that Madisyn and John were both threats. Tyana then said that threats should be eliminated as soon as possible. But then Megan ended up clashing with her after she tried to tell Chip and Ace to ignore Tyana and vote for Alexa. It seemed that everyone was involved, with people campaigning and pressuring each other to vote for one or the other. After the Nomination Ceremony, Charlotte saw the chaos that was going on and quickly regretted nominating Madisyn. [Charlotte: I wish I had not done it. I see my choice has divided the whole island!]
The thirty minutes were then exhausted, bringing an end to the chaos. Nick returned and began the Banishing Ceremony.
BANISHING CEREMONY #3 Nick: I see that you guys have quite the decision to make here. It is now time to vote. One by one, you will enter the voting hut and cast your vote. We will start with Rachel.
Rachel votes. Tyana votes for MADISYN. [Tyana: Madisyn, I can’t stand you girl. The sooner this island is rid of you, the better for everyone!] Ace votes. Chip votes. Frank votes. Ginny votes for MADISYN. [Ginny: Going with the group here. Sorry, Madisyn. I don’t really hate you.] Gordon votes. Ivan votes. Lucie votes for JOHN. [Lucie: Payback. I know you’ll understand.] Megan votes for ALEXA. [Megan: I was pleasantly surprised to see you nominated again. Please leave. Thank you.]
Nick: That’s the last vote. I will now tally the votes and return with the results. Nick: Well... the vote this round was 5-4-1. With 1 vote...
JOHN, you are safe.
That leaves Madisyn and Alexa... only one vote separated the two of you. With five votes, the third person banished from Ashna Island is....
ALEXA. Alexa, you have been banished from Ashna Island. Please leave immediately. Alexa threw back her hair and gave an exasperated sigh. Alexa: You will all regret this decision. You’re giving the game away to an 18-year-old... you’ll see. Nick: Alexa, please leave now. Alexa nodded, waved to her three girls and told them all to be strong for her. Then she walked towards the waiting motorboat. The third person had been banished from Ashna Island – 15 now remained.

Last time on Ashna Island... -Fearing that her opponent Madisyn was becoming too powerful in the game, Alexa began a campaign to turn the tide of the game against Madisyn. -At the balance beam challenge, Jasmine and Asher won Council seats. Asher chose Charlotte to be the third member. He would later regret this decision as Charlotte nominated Madisyn and Jasmine, under the influence of Alexa, nominated John. -Asher told John and Madisyn the news and John encouraged Asher to put up Alexa. John and Madisyn then began trying to get the tribe to like them more. Alexa, suspecting Asher had told them about the imminent nominations, responded by stepping up her campaign to eliminate Madisyn. -After the Nomination Ceremony, a thirty minute war ensued with Alexa, Jasmine, Tyana, and Ginny trying to persuade people to vote to keep Alexa while John, Madisyn, Asher, and Megan tried to rally people to vote for her. -In the end the vote was close. Madisyn received four votes, but Alexa received five – making Alexa the third person banished from Ashna Island. What will happen next?
DAY 7 Things calmed down after Alexa’s elimination. It seemed like one side in the war had won. However, Asher suspected that things were far from over. [Asher: Thankfully, we won that vote and Alexa is gone. But that doesn’t mean we’re home-free yet. Her three girls are still here.] Tyana, Ginny, and Jasmine huddled together by the fire. Jasmine: I’m so sad you guys... Alexa is gone. Tyana: Yeah, it sucks. The people here are turning against us. Ginny: Maybe not, maybe they will just leave us alone now. Tyana: I doubt that... [Ginny: I’m really starting to regret my decision to hang out with these girls. I should have gone with my gut. I knew I was only staying with them for strategy, but I should have listened to my gut and broken off from them. This alliance is just bad news.]
Day 8 On the morning of Day 8, after everyone began working, Frank, Lucie, Megan, and Gordon took a break out in the jungle to discuss the game. Frank: What are you all thinking? Megan: I’m thinking the game is good right now. Alexa is gone, so the game is good. Frank: Lucie? Lucie: It’s okay. [Lucie: I’m not going to just go around telling people that I want John eliminated. It seems every time someone does something like that they get their head chopped off. I’m just going to bide my time.] Gordon: Well, I’m not much for strategy really... all I know is that people who shouldn’t work shouldn’t stay here. Frank: Alright. Hmm. [Frank: Well it seems most of the people I’ve talked to don’t really have much of an opinion about what’s going on. And the result of that is people other than them are going to end up taking control of this game. Apathy can be dangerous.]
Meanwhile, Ginny went off to be herself, something that Rachel noticed. She went to talk with her. Rachel: Ginny, what’s wrong? Ginny: I just feel so guilty about my choices in the game. I hung out with those girls just for the numbers and protection, but I never liked them and now I’m going to be a target. Rachel: You’ll be okay. You’ll just have to start hanging out with different people. It’s a game after all. Ginny: Yeah... I guess so. Thanks Rachel... [Ginny: I feel so embarrassed, I’m always the one who believes you should do your own thing, but here I am being controlled by other people. I don’t want to lose support from Tyana and Jasmine, but at the same time I don’t want to be guilty by association. It’s so hard to know what to do.]
COUNCIL CHALLENGE #4 – Pot Smash Nick: Welcome to the fourth Council challenge everyone. Today the theme is going to be luck. Pure, unadulterated luck. Before you are 30 numbered jars. One at a time, you will smash one open with this mallet. If the jar you break has a red snake statuette inside of it, you are out of the challenge. But if the jar you break has a green leaf inside of it, you are safe and get to hit again in the next round. There are 13 snakes and 17 leaves. The last two players standing will win. You will take turns in reverse alphabetical order. That means Tyana, you are first...
Tyana went up and hit number 12. Nick: A green leaf! Tyana, you are safe. Tyana: Yes! Nick: Next, Rachel. Rachel hit number 23 – a red snake! Nick: Rachel, you are out of the challenge.
Megan and Madisyn both hit and were both eliminated. Next up was Lucie. She chose number 9 and was safe. Nick: Next up, John. John: Eh... 30.... green leaf! Nick: Jasmine... Jasmine: Number 4 because it’s like my favourite number. Nick: It served you well this time, you found a green leaf too! Jasmine: Yeah! Ivan was up next and was eliminated, while Gordon made it to the next round. The pattern repeated with the next two players as Ginny was eliminated while Frank moved on. Chip and Charlotte both got lucky with their hits, while Asher was unlucky. Ace was the last to hit and he too found a green leaf. Nick: So now it is time for Round 2. Tyana, Lucie, John, Jasmine, Gordon, Frank, Chip, Charlotte, and Ace are still in it. Tyana, you are up. Tyana went up at hit 11, but found a snake inside. Tyana: Ah, no! Nick: Tyana, you are out. Lucie made it through another round. Next up was John. John: Number 3 is still there? Nick: Yes. John: Okay... gonna hit number 3. Green leaf! Hah! Jasmine and Gordon’s luck ran out as the two of them were both eliminated. However Frank and Chip got lucky for a second time. They were the last two to make it through the round as Charlotte’s guess of 21 and Ace’s guess of 1 both ended their game. Nick: Round 3... will it be the last round? Four players left with only six pots left to smash. Lucie, do you feel lucky? Lucie: I have no idea. Nick: Well, go hit something. Lucie: Well... since it’d be the opposite of what you’d expect... I think I’ll hit 13. Nick: And... 13 is lucky today. You are safe. Five pots left to hit. John? John: 16... Nick: Safe! John: Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that worked! John 3:16! Haha!! Nick: Frank... you’re up. Four pots left. Two of them have snakes and two of them have leaves. Frank: Well, those odds don’t sound good, but I guess I have to take them... ah, snake. Nick: Chip... 66% chance you will make it through then. Chip: 27... YES! Nick: Chip, you have made it. Three players left... two pots left to hit. Chip, since your turn comes after Lucie and John, by force you must be on the Council. So congratulations on that. The identity of the person who joins you will now be determined by this hit. Lucie, please come up... 18 or 29? Lucie: Oh, gosh. No point messing around I guess. 18. Lucie smashed 18 and found....
A snake. Nick: Lucie is out. Your new council members are Chip and John! John: Yes! Chip: Rock on, man! [Chip: Being on the Council with John is pretty cool. I’m a bartender, he’s a youth pastor... so you wouldn’t think we’d get along. But we actually do. I know I’d much rather be stuck with him than Lucie.] Nick: You must now choose a third member. John and Chip deliberated. Chip: We choose Asher. Asher: Awesome! [Chip: We chose Asher because he is somebody that both of us can work with. And also because I kind of voted for Madisyn last round... and since Alexa was voted off, I figured I should try to cover up that fact by playing up to the winning side of that little war.] Nick: Okay then Laborers. I now present you with your new council – John, Chip, and Asher. The nomination ceremony will be tomorrow. I’ll see you all then.
That night, work continued, but Gordon found a downside to having the Council consist of three strong guys. [Gordon: John, Chip, and Asher were all good workers and they are now all on the Council which means they can’t work. That means more work for everyone else. Thankfully, most people have been stepping up, but it’s still more difficult for us to get by when we have a Council that consists of all of our best workers. Maybe it would be better for us if people kept that in mind, you know.]
Day 9 On the morning of Day 9, the three Council members gathered to discuss their nominations. John: What do you all think we should do? Chip: You know what... I think so far everyone has just nominated whoever they wanted. I think since we all are good with each other, we should coordinate our nominations. Plan something. Asher: I’m listening. John: Coordinated nominations... sounds interesting. Who would we target? Asher: The girls? John: I wouldn’t mind. Chip: But it wouldn’t be the most strategic move, since the girls lost all their power since Alexa was voted off. John: But still that vote was close. Somebody is following her. Chip: I wouldn’t be so sure. Asher: But if we don’t put up the girls, who would we put up? The girls already despise our side. No point in making new enemies. Chip: True. Very true. John: I guess we’ll do it then. And nobody say anything to anybody. We’ll get them by surprise.
Meanwhile, Jasmine began to be apprehensive about the fact that she might be nominated as Alexa had said during the previous round. Thus she began trying to curry favour, especially from Charlotte, Rachel, and Frank. [Jasmine: I feel like those three are like a close group, and I know Charlotte and Rachel are both really sweet women, so I figured I could like warm them up to me and maybe that would help me stay in longer. I mean I have already like thousands of friends around the world, because I’m famous... so... it shouldn’t be too hard to make friends with old people, right?]
NOMINATION CEREMONY #4 It was time for another nomination ceremony. Due to Alexa’s departure, now only fifteen torches stood on the platform. John, Chip, and Asher took their seats. Nick welcomed the assembly and then called on John to make his first nomination. John: My nomination is Jasmine... you nominated me last time, plus it’s just strategy. Sorry. Nick: Jasmine, please take a seat. Chip, you are next. Chip: Tyana. You were part of Alexa’s group and in many ways you are just like her – brash and loud. You’ve toned it down since Alexa’s elimination, but still, I’m nominating you nevertheless. Nick: Tyana, please take a seat. And finally, Asher. Asher: I nominate Ginny. It’s all strategy. Nothing else to add. Nick: Ginny, please take a seat. Now each of you will have one minute to defend yourself. We will start with Jasmine. Jasmine: Well, I think people should vote to keep me, because I’m like good in challenges and I’m like good at camp. And I have friends here, so I hope that friends don’t like vote me out. And keep me here guys, don’t send me home please! Tyana: I can’t say I’m surprised by the nominations. I think it’s cowardly for you three to be nominating all of us when we can’t do anything to you, but if that’s the game you want to play, then I’m not going to stop you. You all should keep me because I’m a better worker than these other two, and I know that I may be loud, but that’s just my personality, and you guys can hate me all you want, but if you’re going to vote me off just because of my personality, that’s just stupid. Thank you. Ginny: Well... I don’t have much to say in my defense... sorry, I’m really nervous being up here right now. And um, uh... well.... please, really don’t vote for me. I don’t have much to say, I can’t think well right now. I’m so sorry...
Nick: Okay, well... don’t go anywhere... because the Banishing Ceremony is taking place right now. One by one, you will enter the voting hut to cast your votes. We will start with Charlotte.
Charlotte votes. Frank votes. Gordon votes. Ivan votes. Lucie votes. Madisyn votes for TYANA. [Madisyn: You are the closest thing to Alexa left on this island, and we all know how I feel about her.] Megan votes for JASMINE. [Megan: I don’t really care who goes this time, but you especially annoy me, so... bye-bye.] Rachel votes. Ace votes.
Nick: That’s the last vote. I will now tally the votes and return with the results. We have a 5-4-0 split. Receiving no votes....
GINNY, you are safe.
It is now between Tyana and Jasmine. With five votes, the fourth person banished from Ashna Island is...
TYANA. Tyana, you have been banished from Ashna Island. Please leave immediately. The three nominees each stood up and Tyana gave a hug to Jasmine and Ginny. Then she quietly and resolutely walked towards the motorboat that would take her off of Ashna Island. The fourth person had left the island. Fourteen people remained.

Last time on Ashna Island... -Alexa’s elimination shook up Ginny, Jasmine, and Tyana. Ginny regretted her choices in the game. When Rachel talked to her about it, she encouraged Ginny to try to make new friends. -A luck-based challenge gave Council powers to Chip and John. The two chose Asher to be the third Council member. Together, they planned the first coordinated nomination, choosing to put Ginny, Jasmine, and Tyana all up at the same time. -Before the nomination ceremony, Jasmine became fearful that she might be voted off and she began trying to ingratiate herself with the other castaways. -At the Banishing Ceremony, Tyana was voted off 5-4, making her the fourth person banished from Ashna Island. What will happen next?
Day 10 Day 10 came with a soft rain, a rain which only worsened Ginny’s mood. [Ginny: I feel terrible right now. I feel so insecure in this game, I can’t stand it.] Ginny went off to find Rachel, who was talking with Charlotte and Frank. Ginny: Rachel, can I like hang out with you? Rachel: Sure, sweetie. Are you doing okay? You looked shaken up during the Nomination Ceremony. Ginny: I was. I don’t want to go. Charlotte: Aw, cheer up, Ginny. We can be your new friends. [Frank: I think that Charlotte and Rachel both play with their hearts and not with their heads. There is no real reason for them to be protecting this girl. Everybody has to go – everybody includes Ginny.]
Ginny’s abandonment of her friend left Jasmine to go find someone who she could hang around with. She chose Ace, hoping that the two could bond. Jasmine: Hi, Ace, what are you doing? Ace: Chopping wood. Jasmine: I wish I could help, but I’m not as strong as you are. Gordon: You want to help, Jasmine? I can give you something you can do. Go help Ivan carry water. Jasmine: Oh... okay... bye Ace... Gordon: Ace, don’t let that girl distract you. We need you working. Ace: Don’t worry about it. Jasmine... is cute... but she’s really annoying. I’m not really into girls like her.
Day 11 The next afternoon on Day 11, the 14 castaways gathered on the shoreline to meet Nick for the next challenge.
COUNCIL CHALLENGE #5 – Dive In Nick: Welcome. As you can see, we’re at the shore. This is your first water challenge. You will be randomly divided into pairs again. Each pair must row their boat two hundred meters out to the first buoy. Once there, one team member will jump out and dive eight feet to retrieve a marker. They will then row their boat two hundred more meters to the second buoy. There, the other team member will dive down sixteen feet to retrieve a second marker. After that the team must row their boat back to shore. The first team to return with both markers will win. Here are the teams... Madisyn & Rachel Lucie & Megan Ace & John Asher & Ivan Jasmine & Chip Frank & Gordon Ginny & Charlotte
Ready? On your marks, get set... ROW!
Surprisingly, the teams all had a strong start. However, it soon became apparent that Jasmine & Chip were not going to be anywhere close to winning the challenge. [Chip: Jasmine doesn’t know how to row a boat. I tried to explain to her what to do, but... she was not understanding me. And now I understand why Megan wanted to crucify Alexa after she lost her flag in the first challenge.]
The other six continued on. Ace & John reached the buoy first, followed by Frank & Gordon. Gordon, being as strong as he was, was doing all the rowing for the team. John jumped in first as did Frank. Madisyn & Rachel came next followed by Asher & Ivan. Lucie & Megan were trying, but communication issues kept them from working together as a team, frustrating both women. John returned with the first marker, with Frank close behind. The two began rowing to the second buoy. Ace & John held a slight lead. Soon Rachel got the next marker. Ivan was diving first for his team, but was having difficulty holding his breath long enough. Ginny & Charlotte finally arrived at the buoy in fifth position – slowly, but steadily. By this time, Jasmine had basically given up trying to row the boat and she & Chip ended up returning to shore. Chip was frustrated, but kept calm about it.
Lucie & Megan continued to bicker about who and where they should row. Meanwhile, Ace & John had reached the second buoy and Ace dove in. Frank & Gordon arrived shortly afterwards and Gordon dove in. Frank and John waited patiently for their partners. Ace came up first, but he was empty-handed. He took a breath and went down again. Gordon came up next – and he had it. Gordon quickly climbed back into the boat and began rowing as fast as he could back to shore. However, he quickly began to tire and called Frank in to help. Gordon knew Frank was not as strong, so he had to slow down in order to match Frank’s ability and keep the boat from wildly veering off course. Frank & Gordon were almost halfway back by the time Ace finally retrieved the second marker. The other teams continued doing their best, even though they all realized there was not much chance of winning at this point. Ace & John were rowing furiously to catch up, however, the lost their synchronization and ended up veering off. Frank & Gordon kept on going... and soon returned to shore, winning the challenge! Nick: Frank and Gordon are the new Council members! Gordon: Hah! Yes! [Frank: A 68-year-old and 40-year-old just beat a 30-year-old and a 20-year-old in a physical challenge. Take that!] Nick: Now, Frank and Gordon, you will have to pick your third Council member.
Frank: What do you think about Charlotte? Gordon: I just don’t want to pick a strong worker... we have to keep the workers working. Frank: Well, then, Charlotte would be an okay choice then. Gordon: Yeah, you’re right. Okay, Nick. We’ve made our decision. We pick Charlotte. Nick: Okay then everyone... your new Council is Frank, Gordon, and Charlotte. You may all return to camp. The Nomination Ceremony will be tonight.
As there was not much time before the Nomination Ceremony, Frank, Gordon, and Charlotte had to choose very quickly. Frank: I don’t know if you all caught this last time, but the boys organized their picks really well. They all worked together to decide who would go up. We should do that. It’s a smart way to go. Gordon: But who would our main target be? Who would we most want to go? I say Jasmine, because she’s a distraction and she might as well go sooner rather than later. Frank: Do we always have to vote off the weakest workers? Gordon: Do you want to starve to death? You know, the number of Laborers will go down very quickly. We need people who are willing and able, always, always, always. If you can't work, I don’t care about you. Frank: I’ll put up Jasmine then. You can put up her friend Ginny. Charlotte: But I like Ginny. Gordon: It doesn’t matter who you like, Charlotte. You vote out people who are weak. That’s how it works. Charlotte: Well who do I put up then? Frank: Somebody who definitely won’t go. A pawn. Charlotte: Alright. I’ll do that. [Charlotte: I’m starting to not like Gordon. He’s bossy. I guess it’s good for us when he’s a Laborer, but when he’s on the Council it’s almost intolerable.]
NOMINATION CEREMONY #5 Nick welcomed everyone to the Nomination Ceremony. Fourteen torches lit the back of the stage. Frank, Charlotte, and Gordon took their seats. Then Nick summoned Frank to make his nomination. Frank: The person I’m nominating is Jasmine. Some people here think that if you’re going to go, you might as well go as soon as possible, as you’re usefulness to us as a group is repeatedly being called into question. So Jasmine, you are nominated. Nick: Jasmine, please take a seat. Gordon, you are next. Gordon: I’m nominating Ginny. Ginny: Oh gosh. Gordon: Ginny, this has nothing to do with you personally. It’s just that you are not as strong as the other players. As the work force dwindles, we need strong people to stay in this game. You’re not strong. That’s basically what it comes down to this time. Nick: Ginny, please take a seat. Charlotte, you are next. Charlotte: I really didn’t know how to nominate this round. I was given some ideas of how I should pick, but it was still difficult. I’m nominating Asher. Asher, this is nothing against you. It’s a purely strategic move. I hope that you don’t leave. Nick: Asher, please take a seat. Your nominees for expulsion are Jasmine, Ginny, and Asher. You will each now have one minute to defend yourselves. We will start with Jasmine. Jasmine: Well, I’m not surprised I’m up here again. But you guys are wrong to say I’m not a hard worker. I can work hard. And I have like... worked a lot. Like a ton. I have worked with almost of you guys, like especially Ivan. I carried water with Ivan. And I even tried to chop wood. So I should stay in. Thank you. Ginny: I may not be the strongest... but I can... I’m sorry... just... I can... I will try my hardest from now on again. Sorry everyone. Please don’t send me home. Asher: Okay, so this is a total surprise. I think you guys know that I deserve to stay. Given who I’m up against, I don’t feel like I have to say too much to defend myself. Please let me stay. That’s all. Thanks.
Nick: Alright. The Banishing Ceremony will be tomorrow afternoon. You have until then to think about your votes. Good night.
Day 12 On Day 12, Jasmine and Ginny were both scrambling to make sure that people would not vote for them. Chip, however, was hatching another idea. [Chip: I am, right now, considering trying to eliminate Asher. He knows how to play this game. He’s a much bigger threat than Ginny or Jasmine. But again, people who have tried to rally to eliminate others have a history of being eliminated themselves on this island, so I’m just waiting to see if the time is right.]
John, Madisyn, and Ivan met to discuss their thoughts on the vote. John: I’m thinking Jasmine. Ivan: Well, I think so too, but she did... she is more capable than Ginny as a worker, no doubt. Madisyn: I don’t think Ginny is suited for this game. She seems to have a breakdown every time she gets nominated. Soon Rachel joined in on the conversation. Rachel: Hey, you guys, can you please vote for Jasmine? Madisyn: Why? Rachel: Well, Ginny’s just a sweet girl and I don’t want to see her hopes dashed so soon. Madisyn: Rachel, you do realize this a game to win a million dollars right? Rachel: Yes, but Jasmine is not as genuine as Ginny. I know I don’t trust her. Let’s just take Jasmine out now. Please, just let Ginny stick around this time. Madisyn: Fine. But we won’t promise anything next time she’s put up. Rachel: Thank you.
Meanwhile, Chip listened to the others to see how they felt about the vote. He didn’t say directly that he wanted to eliminate Asher, but just listened to how they felt about the vote. And after talking to Ace, Megan, and Lucie he found that they all seemed to be in agreement about who should go next. [Chip: So I guess I’m abandoning my plan to vote out Asher, for my own safety. But next time, maybe I’ll be able to pull something like that off. That would be fun.]
BANISHING CEREMONY #5 Nick: Welcome everyone to the Banishing Ceremony. One by one, you will enter the voting hut and cast your vote. We will start with Ivan.
Ivan votes. John votes. Lucie votes. Madisyn votes. Megan votes. Rachel votes. Ace votes. Chip votes.
Nick: That’s the last vote. I will now tally the votes and return with the results.
Nick: Well... we have another unanimous decision. 8-0-0... And the person who received all eight votes and the fifth person banished from Ashna Island is...
JASMINE. Jasmine, you have been banished from Ashna Island. Please leave immediately. Jasmine stood up and gave Ginny a hug. She then waved and blew kisses to everyone as she walked off the platform. Jasmine: I’ve loved getting to meet you all... come to my concert sometime when we’re all out of here. Everyone laughed. Jasmine smiled and then walked to the waiting motorboat as the fifth person to leave Ashna Island. The group’s number had now fallen to just thirteen.
