Ok, I don't know what I've said to whom in whichever games I'm running on whatever sites, so I am just writing one long rant because I know I'm inactive and as players in the game(s) I am hosting, you have a right to know why I'm inactive.
Right now, I guess you could say I'm in a transitional stage of my life. I am not a teen and I am not an older adult. I am at the age where I am trying to establish myself and my life. I do not have the stability and predictibility that the average person older or younger than me has.
I am currently looking for a job, a car, and a place to move to. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty dependant upon my parents. I was a college student, so I was living at home to afford school. I am no longer in college and lost my job, so my life got turned upside down. I am scrambling to find ways to support myself and don't have the income at this point to support myself. And as such, when I lose access to the internet, I don't have the money to rectify the situation myself.
For those of you who have played Survivor: Martinique, Survivor: Greece, or The Mole (Restart), then you all know the type of host I am when I have the ability to be here. Not to ttot my own horn too much, but I think I'm a damn good host when I have the ability to make it online. Unfortunately, those of you who have only played games I have hosted on RGO, have not seen the hosting calibur I have.
I hate not being able to be here. I make these games and I want them to run as successfully as they can. It ruins the game for me too when I am not here. Also, you all take the time to play these games, so it would not be right if I did not do my best to run the best game I am capable of. However, it is unfortunate that I am dealing with a spurratic internet availability schedule at this point because I am not running the kind of games that I am capable of.
For those of you who are sticking with me through these rough times, I thank you. For those of you who don't, I understand. I do hope to get my life in order and I hope that you all will still be around to see me host to the extent that I am capable of.
With that said, there will also be certain things I will be revamping in the future for games to come:
- I have never believed in having to fill out applications to be able to play a game, but I have changed my stance. There are too many times that I get people who sign-up for the game, but then never really play or are very inactive. This happenned in Chainlink this season. There was one challenge in the beginning (before I went inactive) that had only 2 out of 11 people complete the challenge. As a host, this is very discouraging and makes me feel like I am running the game for nothing. I am hoping that with applications, I will be better able to filter out the more inactive players.
- If I run a second Chainlink game, the Chainbreak Ceremonies will be run differently. I have never tried to do real-time anything, but the Chainbreak Ceremonies in Chainlink move far too slowly for me to not make them live. In future games, Chainbreak Ceremonies will be done over either AIM or MSN. If you are not there at that time, you have to have a list in your confessional of who you'd pick. If you do not, then you will not be eligable to be picked until the last spot (the last person doesn't select another person). This will get the Chainbreak Ceremony done much quicker.
More revamps will be posted when they come to mind.
If you are still reading, thank you for having the patience to read-through all of this. I have a tendency to be long-winded at times
