With the mess that tonight's second clue included, I am offering to the racers the opportunity to redo it. It will be included in the next half of Leg 5 at 7pm tomorrow. It will be the same type of Clue (city name scramble), but will have different cities and I'll check my cities on at least three maps before posting them Just post a simple "yes, redo the clue" or "no, leave it alone". Majority rules and this thread closes at 6:30pm tomorrow.

There is a tie right now and I think I will extend the deadling until 7pm. I realize that some people will see the time and not come back until the time for the next clue. So, I don't want them to see this too late. That means that the clue will beposted at 7:05pm.

Time is up. There's a tie, so I will break the tie.
The arguments I have heard for redoing the clue are strong enough to make me think that redoing the clue would be best.

I have an argument for not redoing it. I put this game ahead of another one and I paid for it in the other game, and now all my hard work is being wiped away. I'm not very happy about this. I actually discovered there was a typo on the one you struck from the list and now I have to pay for it?

Actually, you thought you had found a typo in it, but you didn't. You said the 'l' was supposed to be a 't' and then sent in a word for that. That was not true. The 'l' was supposed to be there. I copied the word correctly from the map. I check 5 times on the map before discovering that the map had it wrong.
I would not lie about that. If I have made a mistake in the past, I have owned up to it. Aaron has come to me before about a mistake I have made and I owned up to it. So, I would not lie about this. You thought you found a typo, but it wasn't a typo.
Also, I have not just decided this Redo on the spur of the moment. I spent all of last night and the majority of today thinking about this. I am just obsessive like that. After last night, I wasn't sure what to do. However, due to last night's difficulties, the times for the Roadblock was not all correct. Players were talking to me throughout the process and I know roughly who had the clues except 2 done in what order. That wound up not being the order it was sent in. Had there not been a problem with #2 in Clue 2, the order would have been different anyways. Would it have been fair to those teams that I penalized them for that?
I created this thread with majority rules because I wanted to put it to all of you. In the end, it was a 4-4 tie. I did not want the final say, but we had the Leg to do. I had been thinking about this all day and it just seemed to me that it would be more fair to redo this clue.
I am sorry last night hurt you in another game. That was not my intention. Last night's mess was not my intention at all. However, last night cannot be undone. I have to move on in the manner that I believe to be fair to the most players. Not everyone was going to agree with it, but making a tough decision and then catching heat for it is something I knew I would be dealing with when I decided to host this game. I know this because even when I make no mistakes in what I do and things go smoothly, I have still caught heat in the past.
